Not Your Average Catering Co. is an Adelaide-based company run by a husband and wife duo - Julz (that's me!) and Chris - who share a love of good food that borders slightly on obsession.
Food and cooking has always been my biggest passion, and I've been lucky enough to be raised by incredible women who were amazing cooks that taught me nearly everything I know. Weekends growing up were spent making sausage rolls with my Nan, muffins and cakes with my cousins or "helping" mum make one of her standard show-stopping desserts. My mum and I ran a cafe together while I was at Uni, making EVERYTHING from scratch and jumping in with no professional experience. It was an incredible ride that I cherished, but after completing my studies in Biomedical Science and Nutrition I got a grown up job and said goodbye to the cafe. We launched my official catering side business in 2015 as a way to indulge in my love of all things edible.
Chris's love of food has blossomed as a result of our relationship, and he's survived my sometimes Gordon Ramsay-esque teaching style to grow into a passionate foodie and avid home cook. He even built his own smoker in the backyard to help in his pursuit of the perfect low and slow style American BBQ!
Not Your Average Catering Co. is our way of sharing our passion for interesting food with others, stepping away from the generic, mass produced party food and providing beautiful, delicious, show-stopping catering for any event.
